… and grab your camera. These are some awesome hikes. You can head out on an overnight experience to a high-alpine lake or keep it short and still have the ultimate hiking experience. With the Bitterroots to the west and the Sapphires to the south, we have a hiking adventure for everyone.

It’s easy to get to. It’s easy to find. Take Bowman Road just south of Hamilton and follow the signs. The hike itself is only 2.8 miles and is considered easy … and popular. You’ll probably see other hikers (and dogs … on a leash). While the Bitterroot Valley will be on display to the east throughout the hike, it’s the view at the end that makes this hike so popular. There’s a reason it’s called the “Yosemite of Montana.” Towering canyon walls, a creek far below, and the ideal place to watch the sunset.
